Bring Your Family to the United States

LONG WAITING TIMES &

WHY IT’S BETTER TO BE THE ADULT SON/DAUGHTER

OF A GREEN CARD HOLDER THAN A U.S. CITIZEN!

U.S. Citizens may sponosr their immediate relatives (spouses, parents and minor children) for a green card but for Green Card Holders and their relatives, the waiting times can be very long. The June 2011 Visa Bulletin shows waiting times of anywhere from about 4 years (for a spouse or adult child of a Green Card Holder) to over 23 years for the brother/sister of a U.S. Citizen. Right now, it is better to be the adult child of a Green Card Holder (4 year waiting period) than the adult child of a U.S. Citizen (7 to 18 year waiting period)!
